Project

SOAR

Project SOAR was designed to reduce the stigma of mental health in disenfranchised communities. Education is knowledge, and knowledge is power! This program will provide people with the ability to recognize how their environment influences thoughts and behavior and how it can rob individuals and families of their power and their purpose.  Project SOAR will strengthen the targeted population through classes and workshops designed for them that convey:

  • The importance of proper emotional regulation

  • What mental illness is

  • How it operates

  • How it can be insidious

  • How it impacts physical health

Project SOAR teaches how to navigate services and how effective communication and healthy relationships offer a safe place in our homes and communities. This allows individuals to be transparent and talk about their feelings.

“This program is funded by Sacramento County Division of Behavioral Health Services through voter approved Proposition 63, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)”

All participants who attend Project SOAR events and complete our survey will receive a complimentary cup of coffee from Starbucks®
