A direct mental health service provider
Our Founder
Patrice Tevis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in providing a relaxed, conversational style approach to treatment. This supports building trust in specific communities for the benefits of mental health services. She is experienced in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, criminality, relational issues, and overall mental health concerns for all populations, particularly in disenfranchised communities. Patrice educates clients on the impact of American Institutions on minority communities and how the connection between perceived powerlessness and anger can destroy self-esteem and diminish hope. From its inception, Patrice has been a clinician for the County of Sacramento’s Trauma Informed Culturally Responsible Treatment program, providing clinical treatment to many who have not experienced satisfaction from prior services. She receives referrals from local agencies such as the Black Infant Health Program, Rose Family Creative Empowerment Center, and OnTrack Program Resources. In addition, Patrice is the Executive director of Coffee and Conversation Foundation Inc., a direct mental health service non-profit organization. She holds an Association of Arts Degree from Sacramento City College, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from California State University in Sacramento, and a Master of Counseling degree from the University of Phoenix. Before her work in mental health, Patrice worked in Correctional Law Enforcement, holding various positions in three California State Prisons, one maximum security former Youth Authority Facility, and Oakland and Sacramento Parole regions for a total of twenty-nine years. Patrice sees herself as a voice for the underserved in multiple capacities for nearly forty years.
